Police salary budget grew while settlement money paid some

The adopted appropriation for the police salary and wage account range, read from the Final Total block of each yearly account print, was 2,914,000.00 in 2019, 3,004,391.00 in 2020, 3,050,000.00 in 2021, 3,100,000.00 in 2022, 3,300,000.00 in 2023, 3,450,000.00 in 2024, 3,450,000.00 in 2025 and 3,550,000.00 in 2026. It rose in every year except 2025, when it held flat at the 2024 figure. Across the eight years it rose 636,000.00. The Transfers column prints three entries. 60,000.00 into the range in 2022, taking the modified appropriation to 3,160,000.00. 67,500.00 out in 2023, taking it to 3,232,500.00. 150,000.00 out in 2024, taking it to 3,300,000.00. Those two transfers out fall in the two years the first three reclasses were posted. Each is a budget transfer, and none of the three is described on the print as a reduction for the settlement money charged to the line. The Balance YTD printed for each of the eight years is positive, so the range closed inside its modified appropriation every year. The settlement money was charged inside a line the Township funded from its own adopted budget in every year of the period, before the money arrived and after.
