3 findings.
Every finding is verified to the documents in its own row. An inference is labelled as one.
Red with the marker: a certified figure the books contradict.
The FY2024 report certifies 123,444.46 received since 2022 and 87,972.85 received between 07/01/2023 and 06/30/2024 (p1, questions 1 and 3).
It certifies 0.00 spent in the year (p1), and the FY2023 report certifies 0.00 spent through 06/30/2023. The same report's note at question 8a says the Town's records show 87,972.85 received through 06/30/2024, not the 123,444.46 above. It says the prior report's figure was entered in error and that the Town tried to enter a negative interest figure to bring the total down and could not (p2). Question 9 then certifies 87,972.85 on hand (p2). A town that received 123,444.46 and spent nothing cannot hold 87,972.85. The 35,471.61 difference is the full amount the FY2023 report certifies as received through 06/30/2023.
self-contradiction · 2 documents · 10/04/2026The FY2026 report certifies 51,627.77 received between 07/01/2025 and 06/30/2026, 233,365.23 received since 2022 and 233,365.23 currently on hand, with 0.00 spent and 0.00 encumbered (pp1 to 2).
The Town's revenue print for account 5-01-10-899-333, National Opioid Settlement Fund, printed 05/29/2026, carries the fund into 2025 at 125,106.60 on 01/01/2025. It shows no receipt until 08/31/2025. It then shows 33,081.89 on 08/31/2025, 328.78 on 10/31/2025, and 3,881.59 and 14,335.51 on 12/31/2025. Those four receipts total 51,627.77, the report's own received figure for the year, to the cent. The 125,106.60 the books carried into the year plus the 51,627.77 the report says came in is 176,734.37, the print's year to date total. The certified on hand is 56,630.86 more than that. It includes the 35,471.61 the FY2024 report said was entered in error.
unspent-misstated · 3 documents · 10/04/2026The FY2025 report certifies 58,293.00 received between 07/01/2024 and 06/30/2025, 181,737.46 received since 2022 and 181,737.46 on hand, with 0.00 spent and 0.00 encumbered (p1).
181,737.46 is the FY2024 total of 123,444.46 plus 58,293.00. The FY2024 report said that total was overstated and that the Town had received 87,972.85 through 06/30/2024. On the Town's own figures, 87,972.85 plus 58,293.00 is 146,265.85, which is 35,471.61 less than the on hand the report certifies. The Town's revenue print for account 5-01-10-899-333 carries the fund into 2025 at 125,106.60 on 01/01/2025 and shows no receipt from then until 08/31/2025. The books put 125,106.60 in the fund at 06/30/2025, 56,630.86 less than the certified on hand.
